Bridgette Smith-Bates

Bridgette Smith Bates is a 40-year-old wife, mother, sister, and daughter who proudly calls Birmingham, Alabama home. A graduate of Auburn University, Bridgette is also a dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., an organization that reflects her lifelong commitment to service, sisterhood, and community impact. Raised in an environment centered on love, Bridgette developed a deep appreciation for family, meaningful friendships, and the importance of uplifting those she encounters in life.
Professionally, Bridgette leverages her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and her MBA in Finance to serve as a Regional Human Resources Business Partner for Family Dollar. In this role, she supports and oversees HR strategy for more than 200 stores, partnering with leadership to drive performance, strengthen organizational culture, and support employee development.
Known for her thoughtful approach and strong business acumen, Bridgette’s leadership style is rooted in strategy, service, and people. Throughout her career, Bridgette has built a reputation for leading with integrity, impact, and purpose. She is passionate about mentoring and guiding future professionals, believing strongly in the power of encouragement, representation, and opportunity. Whether supporting leaders, developing talent, or helping teams navigate complex workplace challenges, Bridgette remains committed to creating environments where individuals and organizations can thrive.
Outside of her professional life, Bridgette enjoys experiences that bring balance and joy to her life. She loves traveling to new places, spending quality time with family and friends, listening to music, binge-watching her favorite shows, and indulging in a little shopping. Bridgette approaches life with gratitude and positivity, continually striving to pour into the people and communities around her while leaving a lasting and meaningful impact.
