Kayla Stephens

Kayla Stephens is a doctoral student, public health advocate, and emerging leader committed to strengthening communities and empowering the next generation of young women. With a deep passion for service and prevention, Kayla has dedicated her career to addressing critical public health challenges including mental health awareness, substance misuse prevention, and youth leadership development.

In her professional role at the Council on Substance Abuse in Montgomery, Kayla works to develop and implement impactful programs that educate communities, support prevention efforts, and create pathways for healthier futures. Through community outreach, education initiatives, and collaborative partnerships, she plays an important role in equipping young people and families with the tools and resources needed to make informed decisions and live healthier lives.

Beyond her professional work, Kayla is a passionate mentor and advocate who believes strongly in investing in young women. She actively uses her platform to encourage girls and young professionals to pursue higher education, lead with confidence, and remain grounded in purpose and service. Her journey as a doctoral student while simultaneously serving her community stands as a powerful example of perseverance, leadership, and faith in action.

Kayla’s work is rooted in the belief that when individuals are empowered with knowledge, opportunity, and support, entire communities can thrive.
